The college president has a long involvement in business in this era of internationalization. His extensive experiences include working in the US office of a Japanese trading company, and a management role in a US-Japan joint venture. In 1980, he founded the Shinjuku College of Business, in Shinjuku, Tokyo. In 1989, the new school building was constructed at the present location. In 1992, the College received the approval of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to become a vocational college, an educational institution prescribed in Japanese School Education Law, and
adopted the current name.

- 1. Developing an international sense and promoting personalized education
- Our educational philosophy and extensive experience enables us to provide an ideal environment for foreign students, and we have been accepting students from abroad since 1986.
- 2. Excellent job placement and path to higher education
- In the past 17 years, 179 of our foreign students have gone on to obtain positions in Japanese companies (all with employment visas). Another 162 have been accepted for higher education.
- 3. Small class numbers
- Classes of about 20 students per class, are organized based on with the level of each students proficiency, in order to bring about maximum ability of each student.
- 4. Individual Computer Based Training
- In addition to class learning, we provide the practicality of the CBT individual learning system, which enables students to learn through communicating with a computer. This enables students to progress in accordance with their abilities.
- 5. Flexible class schedule to enable concurrent part-time work and unique scholarship system
- Our class schedule makes it easy for students to maintain part-time work while they study. The part -time work up to 4 hours per day in possible only after obtaining permission from the Japanese Immigration Bureau to engage in activities other than those stated in your original visa. We also offer an original scholarship system as well as a tuition exemption system for high-achieving students selected through an essay contest.
- 6. Improved job placement in Japanese firms with work visas
- We provide a comprehensive curriculum for acquiring technical knowledge, including multimedia techniques, information technology (IT) skills and trading knowledge. This means that our students have the qualifications that meet today's needs, giving them the edge in the job market.

2-4 year courses specializing in Information Technology
Multimedia Department (four year degrees)
Here students can obtain an Advanced Diploma in Information Technology and acquire the qualifications necessary for entering postgraduate schools.

- We train experts in multimedia such as DTP design, web creation etc.
- Specialization in Digital Information Instruction
- We train experts in IT with a good command of advanced IT technology and systematic knowledge.
Two year study course in Information Technology Dept.

- We train system engineers and advance level programmers by equipping them with sophisticated skills in information processing.
- Specialization in International Information Business
- We train experts in international business such as secretaries in the field of trade or information technology, who can answer the needs of the highly globalized society of today.
- Specialization for IT secretary, system administrator
- We train IT specialists and office administrators. Students are awarded a Diploma in Information Technology.
Two to four year Step-up courses
There is a system of further enrolment whereby students may, upon completing a two year course, proceed to a one year Multimedia Research Department or the third year of the Multimedia Department, and thereby study for a total of three or four years.

Applicants for the Multimedia Research department is required to have completed a two year course of the Information Technology department/ Multimedia Department.

Those holding a high-school diploma (with at least twelve years school education), or those who have passed an examination demonstrating scholastic ability equivalent to twelve years education overseas, aged eighteen years or older, who have achieved Level 1 or Level 2 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Examination given by the Association for International Education of Japan (AIEJ) or given abroad by the Japan Foundation.
Special scholars or honor students selected through our essay contest must have passed Level 1 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Examination.

■ Application Procedures
The following is a list of the required documents:
- Application ( complete the application provided by the college; picture is required)
- Graduation Diploma or Certificate ( from your high school, university, other school)
- Grades Certificate ( from your high school, university, other school)
- Medical Certificate (from a public health office or doctor)
- Japanese Language School Attendance/Grades Certificate (from an aforementioned approved school)
- Japanese Language School Imminent Graduation Certificate (from an aforementioned approved school) However, those students applying from abroad must submit a level 2 (or higher) Certificate of the Japanese Language Proficiency Examination in lieu of 5 and 6.
■ Screening
・ Those wanting apply for admission to Shinjuku College of Information Technology must meet the admission requirements given in the left column, and submit application. Select one of the following three application methods below:
- Visit Japan with a short-term stay visa for examination(Temporary Visitor Visa), and take an oral examination at the Shinjuku College of Information Technology.
- Apply for a visa through a representative resident in Japan, or use Shinjuku College of Information Technology as your representative. In this case, you should allow about three months for the application process for your certificate of residential qualification(Certificate of Eligibility) and document screening.
- Apply for a visa through a Japanese language school or agent in your own country. In this case, you should inquire as early as possible. (Nos. 2 and 3 are subject to document screening.)
